6. Beyond the Twelve, God Still Sends the Seventy

Scripture Focus:

“After these things the Lord appointed seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.”
Luke 10:1 (KJV)

Devotional Thought:

When Jesus sent the Twelve, everyone knew their names. But in Luke 10, He chooses seventy more, ordinary, unnamed disciples. No titles. No fame. No spotlight. Yet they were called, equipped, and trusted just the same.

This shows us something powerful:
God’s calling is bigger than the stage.
It doesn’t end with the well-known leaders, the pastors, or the ones with microphones.
There is always a second wave, the ones Heaven sees even if the world doesn’t.

They carried no gold… only faith.
No platform… only purpose.
No positions… only obedience.

And when I look at my own journey, growing up in the church and learning to listen to God, one truth remains:
I don’t need a seat at His right or left , I just want to sit at His feet.
That’s where the Seventy learned power. That’s where they learned to go.

This Week’s Faith Focus:

God is still sending the Seventy, the quiet laborers, the unseen workers, the obedient hearts.

Wherever He sends you this week, your workplace, your home, your friendships, go as one of the Seventy, preparing the way for Jesus to come.

3 Reflections for the Week:

  1. Am I waiting for a platform instead of responding to God’s call?
  2. Does my obedience speak louder than my visibility?
  3. Where is Jesus sending me this week to prepare hearts for Him?

Prayer:

Lord, I don’t seek recognition, I seek assignment.
Make me part of the Seventy.
Send me where You want me.
Let my obedience prepare the way for Your presence.
Use my hands, my feet, and my voice for Your glory.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Weekly Challenge:

Each morning this week, whisper this prayer:

“Lord, send me. Let me walk as one of the Seventy today.”

Then step into purpose, speak hope, pray for someone, encourage a soul.
Don’t wait to be seen. Just go.
The world is still waiting for the Seventy.
