Summary of 10 Faith Excersises
FIRST EXERCISE: DECIDE
Here, you will learn the power of decisions and how they significantly contribute to starting your journey as a Christian or life in general. You will discover that making a decision is easy to say but difficult to live by. You will remember past decisions you made when a great preacher delivered a sermon and made an appeal, your heart was touched, and you decided to start anew. However, it didn’t take long before you found yourself back where you started. This exercise will help you begin today and never turn back.
SECOND EXERCISE: FORGIVE
The power of forgiveness has an impact that earthly words may not fully explain. However, since I am also familiar with earthly matters, I have tried to show you that forgiveness is freedom, peace, love, and rest. More importantly, forgiveness is a connection to God. Recognizing His forgiveness takes us back to the day He found Adam and his wife hiding in Eden after eating the forbidden fruit and forgave them.
THIRD EXERCISE: BE GRATEFUL
People can quickly blame you for a small mistake you made unintentionally while forgetting the many good things you have done that they should have thanked you for. This is because we, as humans, have developed a habit of only seeing the bad and ignoring the good, assuming that we deserve the good and that the bad belongs to others. Thanking God for both small and big things is acknowledging His blessings and being amazed that He chose to give you what He did. In this exercise, you will learn that if we do not learn to be grateful, we will never recognize the value of blessings or even feel the blessings that are released from heaven every day for us.
FOURTH EXERCISE: LET GO OF FEAR
This exercise helped me build my self-confidence in society, ministry, and everyday life. People are so fearful that it becomes excessive. Many lack self-confidence to the extent that they despise themselves. The Bible was not mistaken when it said that cowards will not enter heaven because they always think, "IT IS IMPOSSIBLE, IT HAS FAILED, IT WILL FAIL, WHY IS IT SO HARD?" Fear is the foundation of a negative attitude that shuts the doors of faith in a believer. Fortunately, the exercises in this book will serve as the cure you have been waiting for, especially if fear has been tormenting you.
FIFTH EXERCISE: BE POSITIVE
The English phrase "BE POSITIVE" is widely used even in our national languages where we come from but you may realize that, it may be hard to be that positive. Here, we will learn how to cultivate positivity to grow our faith. No one with a negative mindset has ever taken their faith to higher levels. In this section, we will be guided on how to stop complaining and instead learn to see life’s opportunities, which are filled with God’s blessings, and to rejoice rather than be sorrowful as a lifestyle.
SIXTH EXERCISE: LOVE
The Bible teaches us that love is a weapon for victory. However, when love is misused, it can negatively impact fundamental matters. Here, we will learn how to love ourselves and others so that our understanding allows God’s love to manifest in our lives.
SEVENTH EXERCISE: HELPING OTHERS
It appears that many people naturally lean toward a dependency mindset, meaning we seek help so much that the sense of helping others has faded from our minds. This has affected our faith and how we perceive things. In this section, we will learn the secret of helping others (even with little resources) and how it blesses lives, brings inner peace, and strengthens our faith.
EIGHTH EXERCISE: LET GO OF ANGER
I know it is not easy to let go of anger because we live in a world that constantly irritates and offends us. Our emotions get hurt, and sometimes, the result is negative words that may turn into insults or sarcastic remarks to express our negative feelings. However, if we let go of anger, we will see how God can use our minds for great and astonishing things, blessing the world—starting with us. Instead of spending too much time resolving conflicts, our minds will be engaged in progressive processes.
NINTH EXERCISE: BE HUMBLE
What we will discuss here is humility in life so that we can relate to everyone, as we never know who holds our blessing at the start of each day. People are skilled at creating false personalities so that others perceive them differently, even though it is not their true nature. Humility will teach us that we depend on and need one another, fostering respect among humans and with God. This is a virtue that will lead to the growth of our faith and its elevation as a result of our humility.
TENTH EXERCISE: ANTICIPATING FOR THE SECOND COMING OF JESUS
If there is a Christian who does not anticipate the second coming of Jesus, they may not understand the meaning of their faith. I have been praying for the return of Jesus because I know this world is not our home. Understanding this and living with this awareness is a great step of faith that has the power to transform even the worst person into a good one as we wait for our Lord to return and take us home to heaven.
