12. Born of God, Living as Family

Scripture Focus:
“Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the Father loves His child as well.”
1 John 5:1 (NIV)

Devotional Thought:
Faith is not something we force. It is something God births in us. John reminds us that believing in Jesus is not about performance or perfection, it is about trust.

To be born of God means you already belong. His life is in you. His Spirit is shaping you. You may still be growing, healing, and learning, but your identity is secure.

John then makes it practical: if you love God, you will love His children. Love becomes the evidence of new birth, not loud religion, not flawless behavior, but patience, grace, and care for others.

This truth frees us as we begin a new year. We are not trying to earn God’s approval. We are learning to live as members of His family.

This Week’s Faith Focus:
Rest in who you are.
Walk in love.
Let your life reflect the family you belong to.

1 Reflection for the Week:
Am I living to earn God’s love, or living from the place of already belonging?

Prayer:
Father God, thank You for giving me new life through faith in Jesus. Teach me to love You and to love others as Your children. Help my life reflect who I belong to. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Weekly Challenge:
This week, choose love in every interaction.
Let your actions reflect your new birth.
